Article Spinning involves taking an article and creating multiple versions of the original. Spinning articles manually is very effective, arguably more effective than software spun articles that automate your spinning process. This process of automated article spinning is perfect for webmasters who are heavily into social article submission websites. There is a flip side to this concept though, but I’ll get into that later.

Why Spin Articles?

Spinning your original article is very handy for avoiding Google’s duplicate content penalty. It allows you to submit your work to 100′s of submission websites rather than just a few. This allows for a stronger following base, higher traffic potential, more backlinks, etc. It’s almost like having the strength of multiple blogs without the excessive posts and content clutter. This process is very handy for fast growing blogs and affiliate based websites.

The Flip Side

Hundreds of versions of your original article sounds great, it takes almost no time compared to the amount of content your able to produce. This is a black hat technique however, there are flaws with this system that can counter the positive affects. Google has since caught on to this tactic in their latest updates they have cracked down on this process by focusing more on quality content, this means your content must contain little errors if any at all. The problem with article spinning is there are only so many ways to arrange a sentence that make sense. Often times you will see articles that are puzzling because the words have been reordered or changed to hide the appearance of duplicate content. While minor mistakes might not seem like much, they do affect your rankings and SERP Ranks.

Are Spinners Effective?

A common process of article spinners is changing stop words. Stop words are the extremely common words that are used on a daily basis.

Example: changing the word ‘those’ to ‘this’.

They change stop words because search engines do not look at these words with any relevance so changing the order is a loophole. I believe Google has corrected for this but updating what mistakes warrant penalties but, if the sentence makes sense and it is still coherent after the spin, then Google is none the wiser. Article spinners aren’t inferior services for SEO usage though, they are updated to regularly to reflect search engine updates. The majority of the reputable spinners are monthly payment services that offer a multitude of options for spinning. If you use these tools correctly you can easily create multiple articles all based one original article, all while creating high quality backlinks and a stronger social submission profile.
