FacebookThere are numerous articles on the web that explain how Facebook has a strong influence on business and search engine rankings. All of them state that Facebook has significant social authority in Google, and that you have to be actively engaged in the social community to gain authority, but few of theme explain how. Social involvement helps promote sales, increases traffic and SERP’s (Search Engine Rank Positions), so participation in the social communities is vital to online growth. The problem is that not many of these articles have explanation as to how to interact within Facebook properly.

To Be Liked Or Not To Be Liked

Being ‘liked’ in Facebook is a lot like a vote for your page or post. It operates a bit like Twitter, in the sense that when you follow someone, more often then not, they will follow you back. For SEO‘s this is important because similar content with reciprocating links are valuable, the more content related material you have linking to your site the better off your rank is. Liking a page also helps build new contacts that can further progress your website or business, so being friendly always helps. Some times you can get lucky and have individuals from a group or company ‘like’ you back, essentially turning 1 ‘like’ into several.

Increasing Interest

Start stimulating conversations by asking questions to help draw interest from within Facebook. Posting information that people can relate to or find useful, as long as you can catch someones attention you have completed half the task. Conducting voting polls helps drum up some attention as well, often times the polls are followed with controversial comments that cause energetic conversations. Doing this over a long period of time can build an enormous following that can drive vast amounts of traffic.

These few suggestions are quite common and fairly simple to operate but consistency is the key. If you consistently interact on a daily basis with your fans and followers you can count on increasing traffic and revenue, whether its from ad-space or sales.
